History of Jenkinson’s Boardwalk
In 1928, Charles H. Jenkinson built a large open-air pavilion in the quiet shore town of Point Pleasant Beach. It featured a candy shop, soda fountain, refreshment stand, and a large salt water swimming pool. Later additions included a dance hall and mini golf course. Over the years, Jenkinson’s Boardwalk expanded to include beaches, an amusement park, aquarium, arcades and more, becoming one of the top family destinations at the New Jersey shore.
