This week’s Meet a Mom feature spotlights Brittany Winters, mom, entrepreneur, and the founder behind The Boulevard Play Café and Poppin’ Bottles Soft Play & More.
From balancing motherhood and multiple businesses to navigating a journey shaped by resilience, Brittany shares the story behind building spaces designed to bring connection, imagination, and community back to parenthood.
In our interview, she opens up about entrepreneurship, motherhood, overcoming challenges, and the simple moments that matter most with her son.
Where are you from originally and how long have you lived in town?
I grew up in Jackson, New Jersey, so I’m very familiar with Ocean County, but I’ve called Freehold home for several years now.
Child(ren) and Age(s)?
I have one son, who is 2.5 years old and the heart behind everything I build.
One thing people would be surprised to know about you…
People are often surprised to learn that in high school I was told I wouldn’t succeed or attend college because of my hearing impairment — a message that came directly from my guidance counselor. I was later told by a dean of speech pathology that I couldn’t pursue the field because
I “couldn’t hear a lisp,” and I was ultimately removed from the program. My hearing loss was misdiagnosed until I was 10. I went on to graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a minor in Hearing Sciences. What others once viewed as limitations became the very things that shaped my resilience, perspective, and drive. Anxiety has also been a huge part of my journey, but over time I’ve learned to view it as a
superpower. It’s what pushes me to think deeply, care deeply, create, build, and continue proving to myself that I’m capable of more than people expected of me. I’m no longer afraid or embarrassed to share my story — I’m proud of it.

Anyone special you’d like to thank for helping you through parenthood?
While my husband Brandon is absolutely my biggest teammate through all of this, we truly could not do it without our parents. Both my parents and my in-laws have dropped everything at times to help care for our son so we could continue building our businesses and pursuing our goals.
It takes a village in every sense of the word, and I’m incredibly grateful for the support system we have around us. As working parents trying to balance entrepreneurship, corporate careers, and family life, their love and support have made so much possible for us.
Favorite things to do with your kids?
My favorite things to do with my son are the simple, everyday moments — playground dates, library story time, pop-up mommy-and-me classes, and local coffee stops where he gets a treat too. While juggling multiple jobs, I’ve learned that it’s often these small pockets of time that mean the most — slowing down, being present, and enjoying the moment together.

Are you involved in a business venture, a local organization, a creative endeavor, or in the corporate world? Please share!
I currently wear a few hats. I’m the owner of The Boulevard Play Café, a boutique indoor play café in Manalapan designed to bring community, imagination, and slow moments back to parenthood. I’m also the owner of Poppin’ Bottles Soft Play & More, a luxury mobile soft play
company serving families throughout Monmouth. Middlesex and Ocean County. In addition to entrepreneurship, I work full-time in corporate healthcare as a Provider Relations Manager. Motherhood completely changed the direction of my life and inspired me to create the kinds of
spaces and experiences I wished existed more locally for parents and children.

How has this community been instrumental in getting you to where you are now?
This community has truly been the backbone of everything I’ve built. From local moms sharing my business pages, attending events, booking parties, or simply offering encouragement online, the support has been incredible. As a working mom balancing multiple jobs, entrepreneurship, and motherhood, there have been many moments where I questioned if I was doing too much or adding too much stress to my
plate. This community reminded me that there is power in connection, and that so many of us are navigating the same season of life together.
The Boulevard was created with that exact feeling in mind — a space where children can play while parents feel supported, connected, and seen too.
What is your favorite restaurant in Monmouth County?
Oh man, I have so many favorites depending on my mood — it’s hard to pick just one. From Romeo’s in Raintree for my favorite California cheesesteak, to Frankie Fed’s for their salad dressing, to Yama Sushi in Freehold Boro for sushi nights… Monmouth County honestly has
such a great food scene. And of course, Jersey Freeze is always a staple, especially in the summer. Lately though, as a toddler mom, some of my favorite spots are simply the places where you can enjoy a good meal or sweet treat while still feeling comfortable bringing your little one along too.
What is your favorite activity to do with your son in Monmouth County?
I love the simple things most — playground mornings, library story times, seasonal pop-up events, coffee dates, and exploring local family-friendly spots together. Some of our best days are the unplanned ones where we just slow down and enjoy the moment together.
What are your Mom Goals?
My biggest goal as a mom is to raise a kind, confident, emotionally secure little boy who always knows how deeply loved he is. I also hope he grows up seeing that it’s okay to dream big, work hard, and build a life that feels meaningful — even when the path isn’t easy or traditional.
I want him to grow up seeing a mother who pursued her goals while still making space for the moments that matter most.
