Hackensack Meridian Children’s Health is ready for everything from the most urgent and complex surgeries to the simplest procedures.
Jersey Shore University Medical Center is New Jersey’s only Level I Pediatric Trauma Center, accredited by the American College of Surgeons. Injury Prevention and Community Education is a critical partner of Pediatric Trauma—helping families prevent common childhood injuries like falls, motor vehicle, and bike or pedestrian accidents.
Through community programs and events like the Bike Bash I attended this May, their team provides hands-on education and safety resources for families. They even offer free car seat checks for all families on the first Tuesday of every month from 3–7 PM at Jersey Shore UMC — such an important service for parents and caregivers.
After touring the hospital and seeing this incredible work firsthand, I sat down with Dr. Victoriya Staab, Director of Pediatric Trauma, to learn more about why having a Level I Pediatric Trauma Center right here in our community truly matters.
