- NASA’s International Observe the Moon Night: Observe the moon with park naturalists at Bayshore Waterfront Park on October 3.
- Historic Battery Lewis Tours: Tour the restored coastal defense site in Hartshorne Woods Park on October 11 & 12

October Festivals

Red Bank Oktoberfest: The third annual Red Bank Oktoberfest on October 11 will have beer, food, live music, a kids’ zone, and a vendor market.
Holmdel Township Harvest Fest: On October 11 at Bayonet Farm, this festival offers live music, food vendors, a beer and wine garden, and a show of “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown,” followed by fireworks.
The Monmouth Moms Fall Fest at Bell Works on Sunday October 19th from 11-3pm!
Middletown Day 2025: On October 19, this large fall festival features a business showcase, food court, live entertainment, and a Trunk-or-Treat.
West Long Branch Fall Festival: This family-friendly festival will take place on October 12 at Franklin Lake Park.

Family-Friendly Halloween Fun

Happy Day Farm (Manalapan): The farm’s fall festival is a great place for Halloween-themed fun. Pumpkin picking and corn maze.
Halloween House Freehold: Halloween House Freehold is a completely immersive, one of a kind Halloween experience where you are transported to an all Halloween world.
Creatures of the Night (Huber Woods Park, Middletown):October 13 & 14, 20 & 21, and 27 & 28: Celebrate the fall season with an interactive, family-friendly hayride that is educational, safe, and NON-SCARY FUN! Be thoroughly entertained as we put on this year’s show themed “Creatures Take a Trip”!
Trick-or-Treat at Historic Walnford: Trick-or-Treat in the Park Sunday, October 26 from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. Walk from building to building where staff will provide facts about the site, as well as a treat to fill your basket!

- Middletown Day 2025: Sunday, October 19th
- Trunk-or-Treat at the Jersey Shore Arts Center: Free! Our annual Trunk or Treat will return on Saturday, October 26th from 2 to 4pm! Kids and adults put on your best costumes, collect candy and dance while the DJ pays your favorite songs!
