Where are you from originally and how long have you lived in town?

My husband and I are both Philly natives, work took us to NYC for about 8 years before we moved to Middletown in 2021 as our new forever home!

Child(ren) and Age(s)?

We have two girls, Saylor (6) and Braylen (4).

One thing people would be surprised to know about you…

I figure skated growing up and my resume includes being a Flyer’s Ice girl for a season!

Anyone special you’d like to thank for helping you through parenthood?

Beyond my family and my amazing husband, Sam, who’s such a hands-on dad, I’ve found the online social community to be incredibly supportive. It’s provided me with advice at all hours of the night, helped me connect with some of my closest mom friends, and served as a much-needed reality check, reminding me that every mom faces challenges and, at the end of the day, we’re all just doing our best!

Favorite things to do with your kids?

We love to spend time at the beach or by the water. I grew up spending summers at the Jersey Shore and now I feel lucky to live at the Jersey Shore and share that love with my kids that my grandparents & parents shared with me.

Are you involved in a business venture, a local organization, a creative endeavor, or in the corporate world? Please share!

Yes! I started my own business, One in a Mila Designs, LLC. We specialize in interior decorating, seasonal styling, and much more! Whether you’re a homeowner or business owner, we’re here to help with everything from choosing paint and wallpaper to selecting furniture,
fixtures, and beyond. If you’re having trouble reimagining a space or maximizing storage, we’ve got you covered. Whether it’s a small project or a larger one like a basement, kitchen, bathroom, or addition, we’re excited to be part of your journey. We understand home projects can feel
overwhelming, but we aim to make them enjoyable and as stress-free as possible, tailoring our approach to fit your unique preferences.

How has this community been instrumental in getting you to where you are now?

Before starting this business, I spent my career in Corporate America. Once I launched, I quickly realized the incredible value of small business partnerships and the unique connection shared between local businesses and their communities. The support and inspiration from the
community have been overwhelming, and I’ve developed a deep appreciation for it now that I’m on this side of things, away from Corporate America. I’m committed to supporting local partners as much as possible. It’s incredibly fulfilling to know that by working with local businesses, I’m helping other families create the lifestyle they desire, all while building strong, meaningful relationships.

What is your favorite restaurant in Monmouth County?

I had a hard time with this one. I feel like I’m still learning all the great spots. It’s also been a little more challenging lately to go out to eat as a family as our daughter was diagnosed with Celiac about a year and a half ago so it’s not as easy to go out as often. My husband is an
incredible cook (thank goodness because I am not!). I swear if he wanted to open a restaurant, he’d be a MICHELIN Star chef, so I feel lucky and spoiled by his meals. He’s also super dedicated to making sure our daughter doesn’t feel left out in any instance when it comes to
food. Although not celiac friendly, I LOVE Salerno’s pizza in Hazlet. I get excited for every Friday when we order takeout from there. The pizza is incredible, and the staff is awesome.

What is your favorite activity to do with your children in Monmouth County?

Explore new places, especially beach towns. Since we’re not originally from around here, we love spending the day adventuring in a coastal town we haven’t spent time in before.

What are your Mom Goals?

To remember to let them be little and not rush them growing up. To have more patience. To enjoy the moments while they are still so young and innocent. Sometimes life moves so fast and we are all so busy we forget to just stop and enjoy the moment. I want to try to be more present
for all the things they enjoy doing at this age vs focusing all my energy on the chores because the little things won’t be here forever…
