We asked Dr. Bayefsky!
What do patients say about you?
I think my patients would say that I am thorough and that I take the time to understand and respond to their concerns; that I am genuinely invested in them as human beings and in doing all that I can to improve their health and quality of life; and that I bring a sense of humor and personableness to our visits together.
What is the #1 tip you always share with patient families?
I want all patients and families to know that we are a team. If patients are struggling to remember to take their medications or don’t like how their medications make them feel, I ask that they let me know so that we can come up with a solution together. In addition, I counsel my adolescent and young adult patients about the differences between pediatric and adult rheumatology care so that they can be prepared to succeed in adult healthcare.
How do you spend time with your friends and family for fun?
I enjoy biking, playing/watching baseball, traveling, learning foreign languages, and spending time with friends and family.
What do you enjoy most about New Jersey?
I am grateful to be a part of this wonderful community, especially at Hackensack Meridian Health where there is a shared vision to provide the highest quality of care to our patients.
