In our interview, Dr. Kristianne opens up about her journey from Virginia Beach to Monmouth County, where she built a thriving dental practice with her husband while raising their young family. She shares her love for beach days and ice cream outings with her daughter, and the importance of community and self-care for busy moms.

Where are you from originally and how long have you lived in town?
I am originally from Virginia Beach! After spending almost a decade in Philadelphia and the Philly suburbs, in 2022 we decided to move to Monmouth County to be closer to my husband’s family before our daughter was born.

I have a 2 year old daughter Noelle and another baby girl on the way 🙂
One thing people would be surprised to know about you…
I used to be an instructor at Pure Barre when I was a dental student and resident!
Anyone special you’d like to thank for helping you through parenthood?
Going through professional school gives you a very narrow window for having kids, and so many of my girlfriends from dental school ended up getting pregnant and having kids around the same time, so we are all always helping each other out!
Favorite things to do with your kids?
We love going to the beach and getting ice cream all year round! We live so close to the beach, so even on warm winter days, we love strolling on the boardwalk or walking through beach towns.

I am a board certified pediatric dentist and opened up my own practice in Middletown alongside my husband who is an orthodontist (Surfside Smile Co. Pediatric Dentistry & Orthodontics). In our practice, we strive to meet individualized needs and provide quality care while keeping dentistry light and fun. We get to know our families and make everyone part of our ‘Ohana!
How has this community been instrumental in getting you to where you are now?
Starting a business in an area where you have absolutely zero connections is hard! I’ve made so many great friends and met so many people through this community, and the Monmouth Moms Summit in 2024 really empowered me to keep working towards my goals!
What is your favorite restaurant in Monmouth County?
I love Hatch 44 in Bradley Beach for brunch!
What is your favorite activity to do with your daughter in Monmouth County?
Ice cream shops! There are so many great ice cream shops in Monmouth County (our favorites are Hoffman’s and Nicholas Creamery) and my favorite treat is ice cream and I could probably say my daughter feels the same way 🙂
What are your Mom Goals?
I spent a lot of 2024 putting my family and my business first, but this year it’s time to focus on self-care because burnout is real. With a second little one coming this year, I need to prioritize my own mental health and wellness and fill my own cup to be the best mom to another baby!
