Meet-a-Doc: Meet Dr. Alycia Foti!
Hackensack Meridian K. Hovnanian Children’s Hospital is proud to expand its Pediatric Hematology and Oncology services with the exciting addition of Alycia R. Foti, M.D.
Dr. Foti is a specialized expert in leukemia, lymphoma, relapsed and/or refractory of these disorders, oncofertility, and bleeding disorders. She is able to treat infants, children, adolescents and young adults with a wide variety of hematology and oncology conditions.
Dr. Foti is excited to give back to Monmouth County – a community that has given her family so much over the years serving as a second home to her family for generations and now a permanent home for her immediate family. She is passionate about making a difference in people’s lives and being an advocate for patients’ access to healthcare and health literacy.

What do patients say about you?
She ensures that patients and their families understand the process, particularly why the providers are concerned, why the tests are necessary, and addresses their questions/concerns. She strives to provide thorough and equal care to all patients and to advocate for their needs whenever needed. She hopes her patients and their families feel heard throughout their child’s journey, and know they have a partner in her every step of the way. She understands that this may be a stressful time for most families and her goal is to make it as easy as possible for them.
What is the #1 tip you always share with patient families?
It’s vital to maintain a well balanced diet to keep up with the body’s demand during treatment and for healing. Activity is always encouraged as tolerated and most importantly it’s important for children to participate in age appropriate activities. Let kids be kids.
How do you spend time with your friends and family for fun?
I enjoy traveling to new destinations, learning about new cultures, and tasting the local cuisine of my travel destination. These days the majority of my time (outside of work) is spent entertaining our toddler daughter.
What do you enjoy most about New Jersey?
I love the relatively quick access NJ offers for family centered fun: beach trips, hiking/biking trails, amusement and water parks, wineries, and apple/pumpkin picking opportunities, as well as amazing dining options for foodies like myself.
