Hackensack Meridian K. Hovnanian Children’s Hospital is proud to spotlight Nicole Marcantuono, M.D., in this edition of Meet-a-Doc. As the Section Chief of Pediatric Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at K. Hovnanian Children’s Hospital, Dr. Marcantuono specializes in (and has been published on the topic of) brain injury and concussion; treating a wide-range of disabilities, conditions, and injuries to help patients achieve their maximum mobility. She provides many critical treatments, including but not limited to, botox injections, intrathecal baclofen pump management, electromyography (EMG), and dry needling.

What sparked your interest in a medical career?
I have always been drawn to helping others. In middle school, I had a friend whose younger brother had cerebral palsy, which sparked my interest in volunteering in camps and teaching swimming to children with developmental differences.
What are you always passionate to speak about with parents?
Maximizing quality of life and advocating for the best interest of the child.
What do you love most about New Jersey?
The variety of landscapes and activities, but most of all, being close to the beach.
