Meet Lynsey Rinelli, a local mom, ER veterinarian, and proud author of her first children’s book, Good Morning Big Apple. Read more about Dr. Rinelli in our latest interview below, including some of her favorite things to do in Monmouth County with her daughter, life as a veterinarian, and some of her plans for a second book!

Where are you from originally and how long have you lived in town?

Originally from Staten Island, New York.  I moved to Morganville in Sept of 2020 in my 2nd trimester.

Child(ren) and Age(s)?

One toddler: 3 yrs old. Her name is Gracelyn Grey.

One thing people would be surprised to know about you…

I am an emergency veterinarian, soft tissue surgeon and I run an exotics team in the ER. I also took care of the racing teams during the Willow 300 race in Alaska. I have been featured on DVM360 for trending diet options for your pets. My true passion is on the basketball court, although I do LOVE to golf!

Anyone special you’d like to thank for helping you through parenthood?

I would like to thank my daughter’s Godmother for her support through my postpartum period.

Favorite things to do with your kids?

The Jenkinson’s aquarium. Getting cozy under blankets to watch a movie. Reading at night before bedtime (she loves the baby university board books).

Are you involved in a business venture, a local organization, a creative endeavor, or in the corporate world? Please share!

Business venture: I am in charge of teaching our interns or new doctors in the ER. I also teach them all about exotic species, such as rabbits, birds, reptiles and amphibians. I hope to become the regional director so I can help all of New Jersey!

Creative Endeavor: I am the proud author of my first children’s book: Good Morning Big Apple, published by Book Baby. I hope to reach as many moms and parents. I would love to help them through that difficult postpartum period!

I am also working on a Children’s book with an esteemed colleague in psychology for pet loss. This is a topic we touch on quite often in the ER. This project will start in April!

How has this community been instrumental in getting you to where you are now?

To be honest, I have not fully dove into our community yet with becoming a single working mom. It has been such a peaceful transition into Morganville, NJ. I hope to get more involved with the local community soon.

What is your favorite restaurant in Monmouth County?

Huddy’s Inn

What is your favorite activity to do with your daughter in Monmouth County?

Taking my daughter on hikes throughout John A. Phillips park. Playing on the soccer field and enjoying a sunny day!

What are your Mom Goals?

To be a mom my daughter is proud of. One she can look up to as she grows older. A mom that is supportive and guides her through tough times. I strive to be the best mom I can be every day! Ultimately to raise a strong, independent young woman!
