Our First Treatment at Atlantic Pediatric Dentistry! | The Monmouth Moms

The last words you want to hear at a dentist visit are “you have a cavity.” But when it does happen, knowing your child is in the best hands is invaluable. After our latest trip to Atlantic Pediatric Dentistry, we learned our daughter had her first cavity. She was very nervous to have them filled, already knowing some of her peers’ experiences at the dentist. Understandably, numbing, drilling, and needles are all scary terms for kids.

Dr. Guerrasio (known to her patients as “Dr. Sally”) made her feel completely comfortable, explaining at the initial visit about what cavities needed to be filled, and what to expect from treatment. Atlantic Pediatric Dentistry offers Solea Laser technology, a powerful dental laser that replaces the dental drill in the majority of procedures in their practice. It causes virtually no pain, vibration, or noise. In fact, nearly every patient skips anesthesia because they just don’t need it.

The day of the treatment, Grace was apprehensive, but got through the treatment like a champ. Dr. Sally and her team spoke to her like a person, and not just another patient, breaking down each step as they went along. She felt little (if any!) discomfort, and was all smiles at the end of the visit.

Atlantic Pediatric serves infants, children, teens and children with special health care needs. Dr. Safari and Guerrasio have over 35 years of combined experience, and Dr. Guerrasio is a diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Guerrasio is the current president of the Monmouth-Ocean County Dental Society, and Dr. Safari is a past-president and active board of trustee member, and have received the award of NJ Top Dentist.

Investing in the latest technology is important to Atlantic Pediatric Dentistry. They continually update their equipment to provide the best care possible. Digital x-rays, Solea Laser technology, paperless check-in, and latex free supplies are just some of the ways they have continued to improve their care.

Atlantic Pediatric Dentistry also has an “open door” policy, acknowledging that children often need the support and confidence that a parent’s presence brings during a visit, and all are welcome in the patient care room.
