My Birthday Dinner at Red Horse by David Burke! | The Monmouth Moms

After a whirlwind month filled with end of school year events and games, I was so excited to finally visit Red Horse by David Burke last week to celebrate my birthday a little early, and get a date night out with my husband, Lou!

Red Horse, located in Rumson, NJ, has been on my list to try for quite a while, and it did not disappoint!

Upon arrival, we were greeted by the manager, Jay, who escorted us to our table in the dining area.

Once the weather warms up, I love a glass of rosé. Our waiter, Emmett, recommended the Peyrassol from Cotes De Provence. My husband isn’t much of a drinker, and ordered his go to, Arnold Palmer. Both were perfect!

To start, we ordered the Clothesline Bacon and Popovers with sweet butter and cornbread. The bacon is uniquely served on a miniature clothesline, with a pickle and a lemon, and a pair of scissors for easy serving. I’m typically not a huge fan of pickles, but this combination was VERY enjoyable. The popovers were equally as good, and a great start to the evening.

Next we ordered a Spicy Tuna Roll, and the highly recommended Lobster Dumplings. The sushi was incredibly fresh and tasty. And the dumplings are definitely a favorite of mine, SO GOOD!

When it came time to order entrees, I was torn with some many great menu options! Emmett, our server, recommended the Signature Chateaubriand on the Bone, and paired it with a Cabernet Sauvignon, Farmstead, Napa Valley. My husband ordered a special, a Rack of Ribs. We also added some sides, the ‘Onion Soup’ Mashed Potato Gratin and some Creamed Spinach.

The chateaubriand was perfectly cooked, and absolutely delicious. Lou devoured the ribs, which were equally as good. One of my absolute favorites of the evening were the onion soup potatoes, HEAVENLY!

To finish off the evening, we shared a dessert, the Tiny Dancer, a triple chocolate mousse cake, toasted almonds, Grand Marnier caramel, raspberry & espresso whipped cream. So decadent, and the perfect way to end a perfect evening.

Whether you’re planning a night out with friends or your partner, I highly recommend a visit to Red Horse by David Burke. The service was impeccable, and the food was even better. A truly wonderful experience!
