How it got started: I actually started working at the salon as the front desk receptionist and later became the manager. The previous owner’s were selling and asked if I wanted to purchase. I did (lol)! I asked my best friend, who at the time was working under a celebrity stylist in Los Angeles, to go in on it with me. I thought this was the best plan ever because it would bring my best friend back to Jersey. We ended up finalizing the sale in June of 2014 and by August of 2014 she had found us a location in LA and we signed that lease as well! It was a whirlwind to say the least.
What do I do: At this point, I run the administrative tasks in a very hands-on capacity.
Services we offer: Everything and anything hair related. We also offer makeup and wedding services and will begin offering nail services this fall.
Los Angeles: We are located in West Hollywood on Melrose Ave. amongst some huge name fashion designers, reality tv show bars and hangouts, etc.- a totally different vibe from Monmouth and Ocean County but the same philosophy and heart. We have insanely talented staff at both salons. Los Angeles is cool from a Jersey perspective because they get to do a ton of red carpet work, celebrity house calls, and a lot more model/print work. Our Jersey salon is much more low key but has the same level of talent. LA is a 22 chair salon and NJ is 8. So, significantly more intimate, 2 blocks from the Ocean, in ultra exclusive Spring Lake.
