A Fun & Unique Activity for your Daughter with The Girl Scouts of the Jersey Shore! | The Monmouth Moms

If you are looking for a fun, unique activity for your daughter, look no further than Girl Scouts of the Jersey Shore! They provide a positive setting for her to have amazing adventures and a safe place to create lifelong friendships. Girl Scouts isn’t just a moment in her life, it’s a movement dedicated to building girls of courage, confidence, and character who make the world a better place. From building strong
relationships and developing her sense-of-self to growing her confidence and leadership skills, Girl Scouts provides the framework for an unending range of opportunities to make a difference, learn new skills, make new friends, get outdoors, and explore the world.

Girl Scouts of the Jersey Shore has a powerful mission: building girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place. As moms, so many of us have wonderful memories of participating in Girl Scouts. As a daisy, brownie, and girl scout, we cherished the time spent with friends, taking trips, and working on activities. Little did we know, so much of what we learned in Girl Scouts forged a path for success and helped develop skill-sets to run our own businesses and grow our careers.

Fun, friendship and new adventures are what Girl Scouts is all about. Girls make new friends, challenge themselves, write their own stories, and take action to change the world for the better. The Girl Scout Leadership experience is girl-led, following their own lead no matter the age. They learn by doing with hands on activities, which helps them to feel empowered to shape their own experience. It also offers cooperative learning with a tight-knit group of girls, Girl Scouts learn and grow together while cheering each other on.

Activities in the Girl Scout Leadership Experience focus on four key areas:

  • Science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM)
  • Outdoors
  • Life Skills
  • Entrepreneurship

Girls Scout of the Jersey Shore offers a tremendous amount of special events outside of their program, and is also home to two summer camps in Monmouth and Ocean Counties.

At either of the Girl Scouts of the Jersey Shore day camps, Camp Amity Acres (Waretown) or Camp Sacajawea (Farmingdale), you can feel at ease, knowing your daughter is well cared for, happy, learning and exploring the great outdoors! She’ll have the time of her life discovering the wonders of nature, trying new things, making friends and much more.

Camp Amity Acres and Camp Sacajawea are open to all girls, ages 3-15, and their sibling brothers, ages 3-12, for an unforgettable summer. You don’t have to be a Girl Scout to join the fun, so bring a friend!

Girl Scout camps give girls the space to discover a strong sense of self, gain practical life skills, become resourceful problem solvers, and cultivate healthy relationships. Girl Scout Camp will always be a place where girls can:

  • Explore the great outdoors
  • Grow by trying new things
  • Build her problem-solving skills
  • Make awesome new friends
  • Be a leader
  • Make new friends in a space where she feels comfortable to just be herself
  • Have a community of caring adult volunteers to guide her as she tries new things
  • Practice new skills and earn Girl Scout badges and awards
  • Make the world a better place by helping her community
  • Try coding, robotics, engineering and more through hands-on STEM activities
  • Enjoy the great outdoors while learning how to protect animals and the environment
  • Build business smarts through the Girl Scout Cookie Program

Girl Scouts is a way of life that brings out the best in your girl, even in the most challenging times. While she’s learning about STEM, the outdoors, entrepreneurship, and important life skills, she’s discovering new ways to make your family and community strong, kinder, and
better for everyone.
