Dr. Livia Derdova is a certified optometric physician who earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology Degree from Montclair State University. She graduated from Benedictine University in Lisle, Illinois, with a Master’s Degree in Public Health. Dr. Derdova completed her externship in primary care optometry and ocular disease. She graduated with her Doctor of Optometry degree from MCPHS University in Worcester, Massachusetts.
Dr. Livia has worked in the field of optometry and ophthalmology since 2006. She has worked for several ophthalmology and optometry practices in Northern New Jersey where she fell in love with her profession. Dr. Derdova is very passionate about educating her patients about eye health. In addition, she was chosen to present her ocular disease research at the annual American Optometric Association meeting. Dr. Derdova takes extreme pleasure in diagnosing and treating her patients’ visual problems. She has a passion for ocular disease and practices full scope primary eye care. This includes annual wellness and comprehensive eye exams consisting of contact lens exams and the management of ocular conditions like glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic eye disease, post-operative cataract care and ocular emergencies. She also co-manages refractive surgery (LASIK/PRK). She takes special interest in dry eye issues and ocular allergy treatments.
Dr. Derdova is fluent in five languages including Hungarian, Slovak, Polish, Czech and English. She is currently accepting new patients and cannot wait to put her passion for helping others into practice. Meet Dr. Derdova at Middletown Day on September 18th!
