Wine Wednesday with Scout & Cellar! | The Monmouth Moms

Before I started working on The Monmouth Moms, I spent most of my career in wine, and have tasted wines from just about everywhere in the world. Of all the things I learned about the wine we drink, it’s incredibly important to know what’s going in your glass. What YOU like is subjective, and there’s no right or wrong, it’s just a drink after all! But if you can find something you love, that’s ALSO better for you, it’s a win win!

I’m excited to introduce Scout & Cellar wines to The Monmouth Moms community, where you can purchase wine online that’s clean and sustainably made (zero added chemicals = LESS HANGOVER!), and really damn good. There’s options to just buy a few bottles for the house, join their wine club, or purchase to stock up the cellar! I’ve picked out some of my favorites below for you to order right to your door, and try for yourself! CHEERS!

Epic Pursuit Rosé

Cans have become so popular, and I’m glad they finally have! You can get great wines in a can these days. Epic Pursuit is crisp, refreshing and made with Clean-Crafted™ wine and infused with organic essences of blood orange, strawberry, cranberry, and peach. Perfect for all occasions. Patios. Poolside. Happy hours. You name it! This rosé comes in a 4-pack (Four 250 ml cans = 1L), and can be purchased on their site here!

2019 Conte De La Terre Gewürztraminer

Some of my favorite wines come from the Willamette Valley in Oregon, and this one is no different. Aromatic and juicy with ripe orange, Meyer lemon and honeysuckle on a medium-bodied frame with a lingering finish. This wine is VEGAN, and great with food! Pairs well with hard-to-pair foods—think Asian cuisine and broth-based soups. Check it out here!

NV Cattin Sauvage Cremant D’alsace Brut

Made in Alsace, France, Cremant has always been one of my favorite sparkling wines. You’ll often find a lot of the same characteristics you find in champagne, for a much more attractive price tag! Delicate aromas of fresh peach and ripened pear lead into flavors of toasted nuts and fresh-baked brioche. Creamy bubbles are balanced by a dry, refreshing finish. Pairs perfectly with sushi, seafood, or a celebratory brunch. Buy some for the house here!

2019 Fiddleneck Chardonnay

I’m a chardonnay lover through and through. I’ve had some great ones from California, and Fiddleneck is one of my new favorites! Bright and aromatic with lemon curd, apricot and honey on a well-balanced frame with a round finish. Pairs well with seafood and soft cheeses. Stock up here!

2018 Dove Hunt Dog Pinot Noir, Sonoma County, California

If I had to pick a favorite type of wine, I’d probably go with Pinot Noir. It’s versatile, can drink it on it’s own year-round, and pairs well with lots of different foods. Dove Hunt Dog is a perfect example of just this! Juicy and approachable with fruit-forward notes of wild cherry and red raspberry balanced by cinnamon graham cracker on a medium-bodied frame with a fruity, gulpable finish that demands a second sip. Pairs with grilled chicken with a hint of spice or a sweeter sauce, anything barbecue and impromptu weeknight hangouts. Get some here!

2018 Bookbinder 3rd Edition Cabernet Sauvignon – Napa Valley, CA

If you’re a cabernet lover, Napa is often the place to get the best! Bookbinder offers a deep, inky purple in color with elegant notes of wild blackberry, cassis, freshly-turned earth and eucalyptus backed by fine tannins and lively acidity with a lengthy finish. Pairs perfectly with steak, mushroom risotto and/or pecorino cheese. Treat yourself and grab a bottle here!

Cheers, Ladies!

Kate
