Meet-A-Mom Elaenee Nowell | The Monmouth Moms

Meet this weeks stunning Meet-A-Mom dancing mama Elaenee Nowell! You can normally find Elaenee dancing away at the ballet studio or working private Pilates lessons with her clients. After a long week she loves to unwind with her 6 year old Niko and enjoy the nature Monmouth County has to offer. Read more about this great mama below!

Where are you from originally and how long have you lived in town?

I was raised in Lincroft, and recently moved back into town with my family.  We are across the street from my childhood home!

Child(ren) and Age(s)?

I have a 6 year old boy name Niko.

One thing people would be surprised to know about you…

I have a pretty serious Harry Potter obsession!

Anyone special you’d like to thank for helping you through parenthood?

Most definitely my mother!  I don’t think I could go one day without calling her for parenting/life advice or reassurance that I am not screwing it all up!

Favorite things to do with your kids?

Niko and I love to explore nature, although admittedly, he is more fond of discovering insects than I am… We are also fiercely competitive Super Mario Bros. players. I do NOT take it easy on him!  I am super grateful that he is still at the age where he wants to snuggle up and read a book with me on the couch.

Are you involved in a business venture, a local organization, a creative endeavor, or in the corporate world? Please share!

I have been sharing my love of  ballet as an instructor for 21 years. I became fully certified in Pilates almost 8 years ago, and find that giving my private clients and group classes the tools to inhabit healthy, strong and flexible bodies incredibly rewarding.  I am also a ballet mistress for the Company of Dance Arts, a non-profit organization that provides pre-professionals with performance opportunities and exposes them to the real-life rigors of a professional dancer.  Becoming a mother has really deepened my passion for all things health and wellness.  I promote an amazing line of non-toxic, vegan hair care and skincare, while helping other mothers find financial and time freedom, so they can spend more time “momming” and less time working.

How has this community been instrumental in getting you to where you are now?

Finding a supportive community of strong women has been very inspiring and uplifting.  It is so easy to feel overwhelmed and alone as a mother in today’s society, and this community proves that you are NOT alone.  I am truly thankful to have made meaningful connections and to have an opportunity to share my passions with a group of superheroes.

What is your favorite restaurant in Monmouth County?

B2 Bistro in Red Bank.  Also Semolina!

Asbury picks: Barrio Costero and Pascal and Sabine!

What is your favorite activity?

My family loves to spend summer nights on the beach in Asbury Park listening to music.  We will miss Jams on the Sand this summer!  We definitely take advantage of the Monmouth County Park System, and all of its activities and programs.

What are your Mom Goals?

My number one goal as mother is to lead by example in teaching my son to value love and kindness above all else.  I spend a considerable amount on time on personal growth, and think it is really important to share that work with children.  They are never too young to recite daily affirmations and practice mindfulness!  Now that my son is writing sentences, we write how we want to feel and what we want to let go of!
