5 Things to Do in Monmouth County Over Memorial Day Weekend! | The Monmouth Moms

The upcoming Memorial Day weekend certainly won’t resemble years past, but there’s still plenty of things to get out and do, while remaining socially distant! We’ve put together 5 of our favorite things to do to while having some fun with the fam!

Beach

The weather won’t be great for soaking up the sun and swimming, but you can still take the kids for a walk and collect seashells. There’s plenty of beautiful beaches throughout Monmouth County to visit! We love to bring seashells home to paint and decorate, keeping them busy for an hour or two!

Have a BBQ

Enjoy a red, white, and blue themed BBQ at home! Load up on yummy dishes from local markets like Dearborn, Livoti’s, or Sickles, and fire up the grill! Not into cooking? Order takeout from a local business like Jacques Exclusive Catering!

Hike

Head out to many of our local parks for a hike! It’s great exercise, and a good way to explore the outdoors with the kids! We often do the trails at Holmdel Park, but there’s many to choose from. Check out a full list of the Monmouth County Park System here!

Bike ride

The Henry Hudson Trail is perfect for a long bike ride! We got our bikes from the Trek store in Middletown. If that’s too far for you, check out Brielle Cyclery or Asbury Park Cyclery!

Fossil Hunting

Last week we wrote about our awesome trip to fossil hunt at Big Brook Park. It’s a fun little afternoon adventure for the fam, right in our backyard! Read more about our day here!

Happy Memorial Day!
