I think as a mom, one of the most difficult things to find time for is getting your hair done. At least for me, it never seems to fit well into my schedule. There’s five hundred things to do at any point in the week, and next thing you know your hair is GRAY and it’s been three months since you’ve been to the salon! Not only that, but it’s SO hard to find someone who just gets how you like your hair styled. Combine the two, and it’s surprising I haven’t just gone completely gray by now.
Recently, Paige and I posted in our Instagram story asking YOU who your favorite hairdressers were in our area. It’s so nice to have our Monmouth Mom community to reach out to for recommendations. We were quickly introduced to Evolution Salon, and two stylists, Kerianne and Ashley. Kerianne, a Monmouth Mom herself, booked an afternoon for me and Paige to have a little makeover, and off we went!
Evolution Salon actually has four locations all in Monmouth County. We had our appointment in Monmouth Beach, a beautiful renovated colonial nestled in between cute little shops not far from the beach. Kerianne and Ashley welcomed us asking if we wanted any coffee (um, yes), and were SO incredibly friendly. They each did thorough consultations, asking what we wanted to change, and how we like to style our hair. Paige wanted to lighten her hair up a bit, adding more highlights. I was looking to get some of the brassiness out of my hair from the summer, and darken it up a bit for the fall.
While we were sitting and chatting, we learned everything Evolution Salon has to offer. They’re a Redken Elite salon, so they only use and sell Redken & Pureology products. This is a plus for me, as I love Pureology shampoo! They also have an eyebrow specialist and esthetician on-site, which is incredibly convenient. Our favorite benefit however, was when we learned how Evolution offers two private rooms in which nursing moms, moms who can’t find a sitter, or someone who just needs some quiet to sit on their laptop can come and get their hair styled at the same time. Seriously, I was so impressed by learning this.
Our afternoon makeover quickly came to an end, and we loved the results. Kerianne and Ashley were so attentive, and only scheduled us during the time we were there, so it didn’t take up half of the day. Paige had an event that evening, and received a ton of compliments. I spent the rest of the day with my daughter, who gave me a thumbs-up and told me I looked “just like Belle from Descendants 3.” All in all, it was a great experience, and we will both be back!
