My mom and I were talking recently. I’ve been binge-watching the show Mad Men (a little late to the party, I know), and I commented how the show depicts banks being part of the community, a place where the tellers are friendly and everyone knows your name. She mentioned how banking was just like that when she was growing up. It was a time where banks knew your family, offered a sense of community, and truly supported it in every sense of the word. There was a loyalty to your local bank. She actually banks at the local Two River Community Bank because it reminds her of her childhood, and didn’t like using the larger institutions that are unfriendly and lack customer service.
I’ve always had preconceived notions of local banks being inconvenient, lacking the latest technology, and hours not favorable for busy parents. Interested in learning more, I jumped on their site, and was genuinely surprised by what they had to offer. Two River Community Bank has 10 locations in Monmouth County, with additional locations in NJ. Not only do they not lack the technology, they offer more than my current bank has including Online and Mobile Banking, CardValet functionality (allowing you to turn your debit card on and off instantly and set restrictions based on dollar amounts and location), and real-time alerts with the ability to take immediate action and address a specific need, and Apple Pay/Google Pay compatibility.
They also offer fee-free usage of tens of thousands of ATMs across the country in the MoneyPass network! Two River currently offering CD & IRA specials, giving you the ability to earn a higher rate of interest by depositing a specific amount for a specified period of time:
13-MONTH CD or IRA
- 55% APY1
- $500 min. to open
19-MONTH CD or IRA
- 65% APY1
- $5,000 min. to open
Additionally, they offer solutions for everyday checking and saving for your goals:
- Personal Account
- 50% APY2 on balances up to $15,000
- Personal or Business Account
- Earn up to 2.25% APY3
I also read how important it is at Two River Community Bank to reinvest in the community, and that banking with a community bank helps support the local economy. Helping to support local businesses, thus creating jobs in Monmouth County, is something I really encourage within my network and am passionate about.
It’s so important today that we still develop relationships in our community, as not everything can be done from a kiosk and a robot. For more information about Two River Community Bank, click here. Two River Community Bank is a member of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation.
