Where are you from originally and how long have you lived in town?

My husband and I grew up in Toms River and moved to Middletown in 2008 after we got married.

Child(ren) and Age(s)?

We have 1 daughter named Summer and she’s 6 1/2

One thing people would be surprised to know about you…

I am actually very introverted despite the line of work I’m in. I work best by myself and prefer small groups to large ones.

Anyone special you’d like to thank for helping you through parenthood?

Definitely my husband. We have such a good system and really bounce off each other. Parenting is hard but he has made it so fun to navigate the
craziness with. Of course I have to thank both our sets of parents. They
help us out tremendously from after school activities to weekend
sleepovers so we can get a little break. It takes an army to raise kids
these days and we are blessed to have a loving team to help us out.

Favorite things to do with your kid?!

I’ve definitely raised a mini me. Not sure if it’s a good thing or bad thing! Summer LOVES to shop with me. My work is a huge part of my life and requires me to share my day to day on social media and she loves to join in. Summer is honestly an old soul. Anything I’m doing she wants to be part of. If I’m running errands she wants to tag along. If I’m writing a blog post she pulls her office chair up next to mine. If I’m shooting photos she’s either jumping in or playing with her dolls alongside us. So just being with her no matter what we are doing is a joy. Of course there’s nothing better than watching her swim and enjoy the beach. She’s a true water child.

Are you involved in a business venture, a local organization, a creative endeavor, or in the corporate world? Please share!

Yes. I am a full time fashion and lifestyle blogger at House of Leo
Blog. I launched my blog just shy of 2 years ago and recently grew it to
a point of being able to go full time back in September. Prior I sold
insurance for 15 years. It has been a labor of love and really has
changed not only my life but my entire family’s. I love what I get to do
everyday. I love to share my fashion finds with my followers and show them how to look and feel their best by mixing highs and lows in everything they wear. I’m just a regular mom next door so I strive to share fashion, beauty and lifestyle finds that are practical, affordable and versatile for other moms to draw inspiration from.

How has this community been instrumental in getting you to where you are now?

Honestly starting my blog was the biggest risk I ever took. I started
with zero followers (ok my mom and husband do count) and had no
expertise in photography or social media. I am self taught and grew from
the ground up. Early on I would work in the pockets of my day to pump
out blog posts, shoot outfits and grow my social media. Over time my
husband starting studying photography and I researched constantly how to get better. Little by little House of Leo Blog started to grow. I promoted a lot in local social media groups and friends and family started to share my content and eventually it gained momentum. They say hard work pays off and while it sounds so cliche it really is so true. Some days I wake up and pinch myself that I was able to make a small dream I had into a reality. While I can truly say I love what I get to do everyday it is A LOT of work and it’s constant hustle and grit. But that hustle and grit is what motivates me and lights me up!

What is your favorite restaurant in Monmouth County?

We are such foodies so this is a tough one! Have to say some of my
favorites are Via 45 in Red Bank and Moonstruck in Asbury Park.

What is your favorite activity to do with your child in Monmouth County?

We are such beach people and it was so appropriate that our daughter was born in August hence the name Summer. We love spending summer days at the beach and then enjoying dinner somewhere by the water.

What are your Mom Goals?

To raise our daughter to be kind and good to others. This is a crazy
world we live in and of course I want to protect her from everything but
I hope she can always see the good in others and grow into a confident
woman of her own one day. I want her to take risks and not be afraid to
dream. I want her to always work hard but to always take the time to
enjoy the beauty in everyday.
