Meet Vanessa Berry! Vanessa lives in Rumson, NJ with her husband and two beautiful children. A remarkably accomplished woman, she shares with us her life in Rumson, her business, Kick Performing Arts Studios, some of her favorite spots in Monmouth County, and her inspiring mom goals!
Where are you from originally and how long have you lived in town?
I grew up in Monmouth Beach. After I graduated from NYU, I lived in California, Colorado, and New York City. I met my husband, and settled down in Fair Haven. We now live in Rumson, NJ.

I have a son, Henry, 11 and a daughter, Sadie, 13
One thing people would be surprised to know about you…
I love to cook, try new foods, and read Food & Wine Magazine.
Anyone special you’d like to thank for helping you through parenthood?
My mother, 100%! She manages my business, Kick Performing Arts Studios, helps take care of my children, and is a grandmother not only to my kids, but all of the kids who come through the door at Kick.
Favorite things to do with your kids?
I LOVE trying new restaurants with them, as we are all very adventurous eaters! We also love going to Broadway shows, traveling and going to museums.
I’ll also be going on tour with my son part time for the next seven months, as he performs in a Broadway show!

I have owned Kick Performing Arts Studios for 18 years. We started with our location in Fair Haven, and opened the studio in Rumson 9 years ago.
How has this community been instrumental in getting you to where you are now?
I’ve been passionate about providing the arts and arts programming to the community. I truly take pride in how our community has started to make the arts more of a priority and see the value in arts education. I love being involved in the area schools whether it be choreographing for the Glee Club or including flash mobs to master classes. I’ve also enjoyed participating in local community events and fundraisers!
What is your favorite restaurant in Monmouth County?
Trauma’s Trattoria in Long Branch.
What is your favorite activity to do with your children in Monmouth County?
Hiking in Hartshorne or Huber Woods County Park
What are your Mom Goals?
To raise healthy, happy, self-sufficient kids who are confident in their abilities to achieve their own goals and dreams.
